With everything we do here at DTM Technologies I think a Blog section is well overdue. So, to start things off I thought it would be good to give a very brief introduction to the services we offer and how best they can be used in industry. Over the next few weeks we will add more content, detailing specific project details, for whom it was carried out (where we can) and for what purpose, we will also discuss our specific services in detail.
My Name is Alan Roberts and I am the owner of DTM Technologies. I have been involved in 3d in one form or another for over 30 years, the last 15 years, specifically in digital 3d technology. I have used digital and traditional 3d concepts in many industry sectors, heritage, environmental, architecture, sculptural, design, mapping and town planning. In the early days 3d objects were
created from concept drawings, plans and ordnance survey data. Today, we specialise in capturing the real world in 3d, using unmanned aerial vehicles and laser scanners, as well as some manual modelling. DTM Technologies was set up specifically for real world data capture, providing a finished high resolution, accurate geo referenced model in a variety of industry standard formats. However, we also provide a traditional 3d modelling service that can cater for many industry sectors.

Above are some examples of 3d models created in 3 different ways. With our experience in 3d modelling, there is not much we cannot do, from decorative models, which can be 3d printed, moulded and cast in a variety of materials, to survey grade topographical terrain models, to architectural visualisations/animations.
